Where to Rent Jet Skis in Miami (For the best prices!)

Miami, Florida is known for many things. With both beautiful beaches and vibrant city life, it is a popular vacation destination with millions and millions of visitors each year. Many rich and affluent people are drawn here as well.

One of the most alluring features of the city is its location on the beautiful Biscayne Bay. Seeing the bay is a must when visiting, and there is one way to see it that many would say is the best.

Renting jet skis is an easy and fun way to get out on the water and see the sights. But where should you go to get the best deal on your ride?

The best prices can be found with Extreme Jet Ski Tour. They offer 90 minute free rides or tours for between $95 and $105, and also offer full day rentals for between $290 and $300.

There are a lot of companies to choose from in the area, and the right decision will depend on what exactly you are looking for.

Extreme Jet Ski Tour

The Miami area is not generally known for being cheap. In fact, it is one of the most expensive places to live in all of the United States. But at Extreme Jet Ski Tour of Miami, you can find great deals on jet ski rentals.

Price Breakdown

As you read at the beginning of the article, there are a few different options at Extreme Jet Ski Tour. They offer 90 minute free rides, 90-minute tours, half day rentals, and full day rentals.

Let’s look at the 90-minute options first. You can choose between a 90-minute free ride, which means you can ride wherever you want and just do your own thing, or you can choose a guided tour. The guide will take you around to see sights like the houses of the rich and famous and Monument Island.

If you decide on one of these 90-minute options, you will pay between $95 and $105 and not have to worry about any other charges. All gas is fully included in that price.

If you want to spend more than an hour and a half on the water, Extreme Jet Ski Tour offers great deals for extended rentals.

A half day rental, which means 4 hours, will cost between $190 and $200. Renting for extended periods like this really takes the hourly rate down.

If you want to rent a jet ski for a full day, 8 hours, you will only have to pay about $100 more than a half day rental. The cost is between $290 and $300. When you do the math, the hourly average rate is dramatically lower than that of other rental companies in the area.

There are a couple of differences to be aware of when renting for an extended amount of time. Gas is not included in the price, so if you need to refuel it will be your responsibility to pay. Also, a deposit is required on longer rentals. But as long as the jet skis are not damaged, you will see all of it returned.

All prices are the same whether you have one or two riders per jet ski.

Other Activities offered

Many rental companies will offer other activities, such as the option to rent other vehicles or a combination of jet skiing and parasailing. Extreme Jet Ski Tour only offers jet ski rentals, so there are no other options available.

Rules For Renting

You must be at least 18 in order to rent, and a valid ID must be provided for verification. However, you do not have to be an experienced rider. Even if it is your first time riding, you can rent. Life jackets are required but are provided by the company.

Jet Boat Miami

Jet Boat Miami is a company known for delivering thrills to its customers. They offer pretty good deals on jet ski rentals, as well as other fun and exciting activities.

Price Breakdown

Jet Boat Miami offers jet ski rentals for half hour or 1-hour increments. For half an hour, the price is between $70 and $80. A 1-hour rental will be between $120 and $130.

If you book the earliest available time slot of 11 AM, you will receive an early bird discount. The discount saves about $10 from the half hour ride and about $30 from the hour ride, so it is definitely worth at least considering.

Prices are the same for one or two riders.

Other Activities Offered

If you are thinking about doing something in addition to renting a jet ski, Jet Boat Miami offers a number of other options.

If you want to keep the thrills at a maximum, they offer a 30-minute jet boat ride tour. This is a way to see different sights like Memorial Island at a fast pace. The tour is called the Adrenaline Junkie Jet Boat Ride, so you can expect a wild ride!

If you want a chance to get out of the boat on the bay, they also offer banana boat rides. You and a couple of friends can ride on an inflatable banana boat pulled by a jet ski. They guarantee that you will fall in at least once so be prepared to get wet.

For a chance to get a bit above the waters of the bay, you can rent flyboards or jet packs. This is an activity that is not yet very common to find, so it is a great chance to try something unique.

Finally, if you want something a bit more relaxing, Jet Boat Miami does offer pontoon boat rentals and yacht tours. A yacht tour is a great way to see the Biscayne Bay in luxury and style as opposed to high speeds.

Rules For Renting

In order to rent a jet ski, you must be at least 18. You also need a boater education card in order to operate a jet ski. If you do not have one, you can easily get a temporary one on this website.

Jet Boat Miami allows persons as young as 14 to drive, and they must also have a boater education card. Passengers can be as young as 6, but if the passenger is under 18 they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

There is a total weight limit of 350 pounds per jet ski, and a deposit is required for every rental.

Life jackets are required and provided.

BJM Jet Ski Rentals

BJM, which stands for Best Jet Ski Miami, offers similar prices to Jet Boat Miami. They have half an hour and 1-hour options, as well as other activities available.

Price Breakdown

The price for a half hour jet ski rental at BJM is about $75 to $85, which is just a little higher than the last company. However, the price for a 1-hour rental is a bit lower, at $115 to $125. Gas is not included in these prices.

Something that BJM offers that many other companies do not is a photo and video package. For between $19 and $25, BJM will take photos and videos of your ride. This can be a good deal for people who do not have waterproof cameras.

Other Activities Offered

Other rentals include a jet boat, a pontoon boat, and a yacht. Depending on what you like, you can have a party on board or just relax and cruise around the bay. A captain is provided for each boat.

A non-boating activity offered is a flyboard lesson and rental. The photo and video package is also available for this option.

If you are interested in something that will be a good workout, kayak and stand up paddle board rentals are also available for good prices.

Rules For Renting

Renters must be 18 and provide ID. Passengers who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all passengers have to be at least 44 inches tall.

Wahooa Jet Ski Rentals

Wahooa Jet Ski Rentals has a few different locations, including one in Miami. They have a few different options at prices which are comparable to other companies nearby.

Price Breakdown

Like the other companies so far, with Wahooa you can choose from half hour and one hour free rides, and a 90 minute guided tour.

The price of the 30 minute free ride is between $80 and $90, which makes it a little higher than the others on this list so far but definitely not the most expensive in all of Miami. The price of a 1 hour ride is between $165 and $175, also putting it a bit above the others.

The 90 minute guided tour is actually quite a bit more expensive than what we have seen so far, with its price being between $220 and $230. If you are interested in a guided tour, this is an option you should probably pass up on as there are much better deals.

Other Activities Offered

Wahooa does offer a variety of other activities at their various locations. Some activities offered at their Miami location include boat rentals, flyboard rentals, and parasailing.

They also offer a good deal for a fishing trip, which cost between $50 and $60 for an adult and only $25 to $35 for children. That’s a really good deal!

You can also book two different cruises. One takes passengers out to visit Flagler Island and just offers a day of fun on and in the water. Alternatively, every evening there is a sunset cruise which is a great and relaxing way to end a day, and a chance to see the city transition from a busy day to a lively night.

Rules For Renting

Renters must be 18 with valid ID and a boater education card.

As usual, life jackets are required and provided.

Jet Ski Tours of Miami

Jet Ski Tours of Miami have a few different great options for getting out and seeing the bay.

Price Breakdown

As is typical for Miami, free riding sessions of half an hour and 1 hour can be found here. The price of a half hour ride runs between $85 and $95. The price of a one hour ride is between $135 and $145.

Something unique about the free rides with Jet Ski Tours of Miami is that half hour riding sessions are only available Monday through Thursday. If you want to ride on the weekend with them, it will have to be for an hour.

Another interesting practice is that reservations are not only not required, but they are not accepted for free rides. They work on a first come first serve basis. So if you find yourself in the area with some time to spare and they have a jet ski available, you can hop on and get riding right away.

At Jet Ski Tours of Miami, they have a couple of different options for guided tours. With a name like that, it only makes sense.

Their first and most popular option is the 90 minute Miami Vice jet ski tour. For between $185 and $195, riders are guided to many different sights including Star Island, underneath the Venetian Islands Bridge, and the Venetian Islands themselves.

The other tour option is 2 hours long and includes a snorkeling session that lasts 30 minutes at a living coral reef. The tour hits all the same spots as the 90 minute tour, and during the snorkeling, it is common to see dolphins, rays, and turtles, among other wildlife.

Walk-ups are also welcome for the guided tours, but it is recommended that you make reservations in advance as the schedule fills up quickly.

Other Activities Offered

Jet Ski Tours of Miami does not offer other activities, instead choosing to focus on only jet skiing.

Rules For Renting

Renters must be at least 18 and have a valid ID. Persons 14 years and older can drive the jet skis but must have the boater education card. Drivers under 14 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Non-driving passengers can be of any age.

There is also a deposit required for each jet ski of a few hundred dollars.

Other Companies to Call

There are also many companies that rent out jet skis who do not have their prices listed online, and therefore you have to call to inquire. I’ll include a few of them here, as they will often have great deals available.

Hector’s Jet Ski Tours

The founder of this company, Hector Herrera, has been in the business since the mid-90s. He has a lot of experience and is able to deliver quality tours without fail. He also offers corporate events if you want to celebrate with your workgroup. Here is a link to his website so you can call and get more info.

Water Sports Miami Beach

Water Sports Miami Beach has also been providing Miami with quality water-based fun since the mid-90s. Besides jet ski rentals, they offer parasailing, fishing charters, yacht charters, snorkeling outings, and sunset cruises. Follow this link for the number to call for pricing.

In Summary

So, as far as prices go, Extreme Jet Ski Tour of Miami is going to be your best bet, especially if you plan on spending more than a couple of hours out on the water. If you are interested in something in addition to jet skiing, any of these other companies will be a great option.

Miami is an exciting place, and even if you don’t run into any celebrities, you will have tons of fun on your jet ski out on the bay!
