Side-by-sides are a growing American pastime and many want to find ways to fit them in their trucks. Why buy a toy hauler if you can just fit the side-by-side in your truck? Many trucks are not big enough but these are all the trucks I have provided with stats for the size of the bed they have.

Many people do not want to buy a toy hauler if they can avoid it. The problem with that is most trucks cannot hold anything bigger than a youth side-by-side. Most likely, you will need a toy hauler because no adult UTV will fit in a truck bed. Most youth-sized side-by-sides are under 90 inches and adult-sized are well over 100 inches. The beds of trucks range from 65-98 inches. You can invest in a truck rack for UTVs and ATVs. I do not think they are the safest thing to use but they are available if you are really trying to fit your adult UTVs on your truck.
I have created a subsection of each car and a table with all of the UTV models that I chose. This table will tell which ones will fit and which ones will not.

Ford Ranger XL

The Ford Ranger is the mid-size truck model in the Ford truck lineup. It is meant for smaller projects and will not be able to haul a side-by-side of any size. It is merely too small. The longest bed that you can buy on this vehicle is 72 inches and the smallest UTV I have on the list is 85 inches. You can’t get much smaller than that. All of the Polaris youth models are at 85 inches long which is basically the industry’s smallest size.
If you want to carry a UTV in a truck, you will need a bigger one. Plus, if you want to haul a UTV at all, you will need a bigger truck anyways to haul a trailer behind you that carries your UTV. The Ford Ranger while it has its purposes, is not meant for people who use their trucks in relation to their side-by-sides, even the smallest ones.

Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 is the smallest of the full-sized trucks that you can buy. It will not be as powerful as bigger models but it is big enough to fit a youth side-by-side. This only works if you have a long bed. The long bed is 97 inches long which is barely big enough to fit the largest of the youth UTVs which is 94 inches. It will not fit adult-sized UTVs. None of the trucks will be able to fit adult side-by-sides.
It has the carrying capacity to haul a youth UTV but it will cause some strain on your truck. I suggest bumping up the size of the vehicle to make your life easier.

Ford F-250

The second biggest model and a power upgrade away from the F-150 is the Ford F-250. This vehicle should have no problems at all carrying your youth UTV. It is meant to haul more and carry more. This is my ideal choice for hauling. I personally would not use an F-150 for carrying my UTV. It has plenty of length too. 98 inches is plenty for a youth side-by-side. I recommend this vehicle.

The F-350 is the big guy on campus. This model is used on farms a lot to get the heavy work done. You will have no problem hauling a youth side-by-side with this truck. It has the same bed length, width, and height of the F-250. The biggest difference is how much power it has and how much it can haul and carry. You will have no problem with this. If you choose to go for the truck rack idea, the F-350 should handle it well. Make sure you strap everything down and safely. You will be ready to head out.

The F-450 is like the F-350 only stronger. You would not think that it could be any better but it is. What can I really say that has not already been said about these trucks? It is used as well for heavy-duty jobs and holds that classic American feel. If the smaller models had no problem hauling any of the youth models, this will not either. Most people do not have an F-450 just casually, but if you do, you are set.

The Chevrolet Colorado is a great mid-size truck. Similar to the Ford Ranger, you cannot haul any UTVs in this truck. The bed is simply too small. This truck has other purposes but has no place carrying your UTVs around, even the small ones.

You might notice a trend with the numbers of the different sizes of trucks. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as you might have guessed is the lowest on the tier of big trucks made by Chevrolet. This vehicle can carry youth UTVs only if you have a long bed. It has the power to carry all youth-sized UTVs but it does not have the length needed to haul any of them.

The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a great vehicle. The “HD” stands for “heavy-duty” and it holds up to that name. It can hold all UTVs based on weight but unfortunately cannot carry them because of length. It is only 98 inches which means you can only carry youth side-by-sides in this vehicle. You can set up a UTV rack for your truck and use that. Use it wisely and you should be fine. This vehicle will have no problem carrying UTVs.

The Silverado 3500HD is the biggest and baddest of the Chevy trucks on my list today. There are other sizes bigger if you can imagine. This vehicle has the capacity to hold any UTV you put in it but unfortunately like all other trucks, it lacks the length to carry anything bigger than a youth size. Nissan Titan is a good vehicle that can carry the youth UTVs. It is not as powerful as some other models but it is a good truck. I have seen a lot of people with these in the suburbs. It will get the job done but it is not my first choice. It is a length of 96 inches that will fit a youth UTV but it might be a little tight. Not much more than others though. Overall, you will be fine with carrying a small side-by-side.

Once again, another mid-range truck. This time it is the Toyota Tacoma. It does what it does well but it will not hold a small UTV because the bed is merely too small. This car is actually something I see people driving a lot but generally in more populated areas. This truck will not be able to carry anything major that you want to haul though.

The Toyota Tundra is the bigger Toyota truck model. It is big enough to hold a youth UTV but it will struggle more than others will. I think it is not your best option but in theory, it can carry a youth UTV because of the extended bed you can buy it with.

Jeep Gladiator

The Jeep Gladiator is the newest kid on the block and it looks really neat, but that is not why I have created this article. Will it haul anything or be able to carry a youth UTV? The answer is no. It has only one bed size and the length is 60 inches. It pales in comparison to other trucks that have beds about 5 inches longer. It looks great and I think it is meant for more mountain and forest adventures but for hauling a UTV, it just will not work.
