Recommended Base Camp Gear

Every year I find myself trying out the latest camping gear to make my experience better. These items are battle-tested and can be recommended without any reservation. Keep in mind, however, that these items are not necessarily all the highest-end items.  My goal on this page is to recommend gear that is priced really well while still maintaining a high-quality standard.  This is the stuff I use.

I have tried so many grills over the years and the Camp Chef Two Burner Stove is by far the best. It has two 30,000 BTU burners that can heat your cooking surfaces incredibly fast! This thing is no joke and its only $100 bucks on Amazon. Worth every penny!

It took me 3 years before I broke down and bought this amazing wagon at Dicks. I’m not against them, I  was just used to using boogie boards to carry items across the sand. This thing is a back saver and we use it every time we camp. It rolls on the sand nicely and is strong enough to carry my gear and the girls.

If you’re anything like my wife, you hate the wooden camping tables that stay behind at camp sites. The best way to make your camp site feel clean, is to cover up that camp table. With this table cloth you won’t have to worry about the wind either. It comes with an elastic band that wraps around the table  so you don’t have to worry about clamping it down.

No camp kitchen is complete if its missing a cast iron pan. These are the best to take camping because of their durability and ability to cook pretty much anything you would ever want to. Leave your good pans at home and pick up one of these instead.

My wife and I got these chairs as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. We didn’t open them up until months later when we went camping and could finally use them. To our surprise, they had a cooler built into the arm rest. Such a nice feature because I don’t have to get up to go to the cooler every time my drink runs dry.

This table is the underdog of the gear and I wasn’t sure I really needed it. Well, I was so wrong. My favorite part about this table, is that you can adjust  the height! It makes a perfect craft table for my kids as well as being the perfect size for my cooking accessories.

If you really want to up your cooking game, get yourself the Professional Camp Chef cook top. It heats more evenly than the cast iron pan and has a grease hole. This is the best cook top I have ever owned by far. Make sure to get the grease cup if you buy this stove top.

Water is one of the most important things to bring when you go camping. You can used for cold water or a hot beverage because the ThermoFlask is insulated and super durable. It’s easy to fill and has a smaller mouth spout so you don’t spill it all over yourself.

This is my kids favorite for sure. They are small enough that flashlight buttons are a bit hard for them to use makingthese lanterns perfect for them. All you do is pull up on the handle and you have instant light! Best part is, they are only $17.99 on amazon for two of them.
